HPV At Different Sites In Men
Multiple strains of HPV infections are 2 x more frequent than HIV positive samples in external genitalia than those in the urethra or meatus and high risk HPV types were predominant all genital sites examined.
There is not a substantial difference in the distribution of HPV types in different anatomic sites in a man.
Close to 50% in young men have evidence of HPV DNA on the external genitalia.
20% of men have evidence of HPV DNA in the urethra and 12% have evidence of HPV DNA in the urethral meatus.
Note To Self: “Multiple type infections were twofold more frequent in HIV positive samples from external genitalia than those in the urethra or meatus…” This is directly what the paper says. I question if this is typo and if it means more frequent in HPV positive samples. Either way, because of the ambiguity, I will most likely decide to the delete the above question and answer.
